Default OK What's my new noise then?

I have had the radiator mounts and the anti-roll bar links changed and all has been fine for the last 15,000 miles until today.

It was such a nice day yesterday so wifey said lets go out. So we went off and the car was its usual very quiet self. This afternoon I had to go into town and jumped in and set off. First bump there was a very loud knocking/rattling noise that sounded as if the engine was going to drop out. Every bump it did it so it will be in tomorrow for a road test at the dealers.

How can it do this after standing on the drive overnight? So what do you think it is this time?

not sure what you have had so far other than rad mountings, but could be front anti roll links or play in the steering tie rods/track rod ends.

As I said I have had the anti-roll bar links changed, the rad mountings changed and even a track rod end changed last November due to hitting a pothole.

This new noise does not sound the same as those. Much louder rattle/knocking but how can it occur whilst parked overnight? It was perfectly OK when I parked it.

    Anyone got any other ideas?

It turned out to be a broken spring on the driver's side.

Springs are only supplied in pairs and I would want both replaced.

Vx Sureguard warranty will pay for both springs and half the labour cost, which I think is good.

Only problem is that Vx do not have any in stock!!!

What a ridiculous state of affairs.

at least you now know what the problem is m8, could have been a lot worse i suppose, surely they can have the parts in a day or so, and ask for a courtesy car due to the lack of parts, and play on the not safe to drive bit, that always seems to work well if you mention the missus driving around in it.....
hope you get it sorted asap
