While my heap of **** is in the garage yet again they were kind enough to let me have a Signum as a C Car. Its a 06 plate facelift 1.9 CDTi 150 Design Nav in Panacotta.
I have to say I would rather keep this one than mine. It has the 19" snowflakes on it too!!
It handles better than the prefacelift although I'm sure some of that is due to the tyres and the lack of a 3.0 V6 over the front wheels. Its just turns in nicer and gives much more confidence into and out of the bends. However I have found the engine lacks the urgency of the V6, nowhere near as smooth, quiet or refined. The V6 just feels a better engine too me. I'm only getting an indicated average of 42MPG out of the 1.9 and indicated 38 out of my V6 so not as much of a difference as I would have thought. Would the low 8000 miles of the 1.9 be doing this?
I love the colour but it is definitely not one I would have chosen from a book. Looks sooooo nice in the sun. I do miss all the extras mine has, the dual zone CC is a must for me as its just so much easier to operate with the nice little touches like not blowing cold air when hots needed, it waits for the engine to warm up. The over head storage is gone, that was a nice feature that they should have left. Passenger door switches different......
The stereo sounds a lot better in the 1.9 and I like the digital radio. The Sat Nav is a nice touch too.
Overall I like the 06 Design over mine and will be sad to see it go.
(not worried about the plates as its not mine)
