Default DTUK Green Box fine tuning?

Have just fitted box which i bought second hand .Previous owner had it on his astra 150 cdti design and the dial set to the 2 o'clock position. After researching various threads and sites i turned it back to the 11 o'clock position before fitting to my vectra (sri 150 cdti). I've noticed a difference in the short time it's been on the car the car now pulls a lot better and fuel consumption wise it hasn't dropped below 41.5 mpg whilst travelling to work and back (only a short journey). The guy i bought it of said i'd need to alter settings to find the best performance settings for my car. So is it worth tampering about with and has anyone got one of these and if so what settings do you find works best? I'll be keeping the standard air filter in air box and will change it every couple of months as due to previous experience with last car i don't think k&n's make much of a difference. Any opinions welcomed.

All depends as each box comes from the factory SLIGHTLY different

You can turn it back but do it in small increments. 1045 etc If you go too far the engine will drop into fail safe mode.

A decent induction kit (Samota) with these makes a good difference too

With the green light on the left of the adjustment screw, start the 12.00 position.turn to wards the green light a nats c-ck at a time,as The Doc stated if you go to far the spanner light will come on and the management goes into fail safe.
As I said before Contact Andrew @ DTUK he is vey helpfull.

Service interval warning light (INSP 1000) came up today on the dash .Is there anyway i can get rid of it without having to visit dealers.Car was serviced in january and has only done 3000 miles since .Is it down too having the box fitted? Will i need to remove it before going to dealer?

remove the box before taking it for service, or they'll invalidate your warranty if they see it..and no, the box won't affect the service computer.. if i had to guess i'd say that they forgot to reset the indicator..

if you want to do it yourself it's easy..

    sit in the drivers seat..
push and hold the mileometer reset button.
    hold down the brakepedal
turn the ignition key to position 2 , no further..
wait for about 20 seconds and it will show the new service mileage in the display in the tacho..

    job done..

Job done. Cheers I forgot to add i'm now getting 54.5 mpg when i was getting 43-44 mpg unless the computer's giving a false reading i'd say the green box is well worth the money for the mpg gain itself.

it upsets the fuel consumption computer, so any 'gains' you are showing are a bit ficticious unfortunatly.....well known 'side effect'..
