    Default Corfate's 1.9 CDTI 150 log - [pic/text heavy]

So i picked her up end of June at 62k. It's the Life model, so pretty much lowest spec, but it's still perfect for what i need it to do - a cheap, powerful motorway cruiser.

As i write this, she's just ticked over 70k

When i first picked her up -

First up was to debadge the rear -

    WP_20140713_006_zps395dcb5f.jpg

I also changed the rear lights from the solid orange indicators to the clear ones, but i don't have a picture before unfortunately.

I also got rid of the minging orange side repeaters for the clear ones. It's the little things that add up

She was then sent in for a service for piece of mind. New air and pollen filters, oil and filter, glow plugs and fuel filter were changed.

Seeing as i hated the look of wheel trims, coming from two cars before with nice alloys, they were really bugging me. Coupled with the fact that the tyres were badly perished on them, i really didn't feel safe doing 70mph+ on them. I got myself a set of alloys, refurbed them myself and popped some new rubber on

When i ordered the new tyres, they didn't send them out for two weeks. When i complained, they quickly dispatched them. Come two days later, 8 brand new tyres arrived... Not complaining, i got £300's worth of free tyres

Whilst the wheels were off the car, i thought it'd be a good time to clean the arches properly and paint the brakes. I didn't want anything in your face, so i just did them black.

Since i do alot of miles, and constantly get cut up by idiots i invested in a Dashcam. Already caught a few people on it - infact, i nearly got taken out by a lorry this morning!

Cable is now tucked away properly -

    WP_20141021_002_zpse0cc89d7.jpg

Only a few issues so far - snapped rear coils noticed in the MOT, so have now been replaced. Washer bottle pump died, but now replaced. Also had both headlight bulbs blow.

As i type this today (30/10/14), the cars got the DMF issue and a really loud pulley whine. Bought the clutch kit and DMF LUK kit for £400, and it's getting fitted next friday for a max of £150 labour, so that's not too bad. Pulley while will also be getting investigated whilst it's in

That looks a lot better. Get the nasty noises sorted and it'll be lovely.

    Thanks

It's slowly coming along. Not an awful lot i want to do to it to be honest. Debating a slight remap, but it's the extra stress on parts that really worries me :/

Cheers Only took a few minutes with a jet wash. Can't say my mum was overly impressed with all the mud on the drive though!

I know that feeling, I usually end up spending a similar amount of time jet washing the drive after...

So, i got my car back from the DMF & clutch change.

I've got to say, it feels like a new car. There's no more clanging when it's idling, the gear changes are so much smoother as they were notchy before. Also, the clutch pedal feels so much better, i'm not sure how to describe it.

I've also just borrowed a drill from my Gran, so i can install my HID's tomorrow! Back to the 1.9 power, compared to the 1.2 206 i was borrowing off the garage
