    Default Water leaks in boot?

    Hi Guys,

Im planning on trying to tackle/locate/diagnose a water leak into my Dad's boot.

He has an 02 Elite 4dr and we noticed water at the back Right corner inside the boot...he says it drips in when its raining and he has the boot open...hmm...

I sort of went along with that until i was doing a full valet on it and stipped the boot out...and found about 3inch of water in the spare wheel well...not good i thought, obvious water leak.

Im initially thinking the obvious in the rear light seal, but just wondered if anyone else has had similar leaks and they were from another area?...i really cant see it coming from anywhere else really, and it cant be sunroof drain pipes, as it has no sunroof lol

    Any advice greatly appreciated

Could also be the rear quarter glass.

Ta...aye i saw the other thread on the ariel base just after i posted this, but that seemed to leak in down the left hand side...although i suppose water goes where it wants lol

i cant remember what car it was on but ive seen a leak like this from a missing rear light seal (one side had no gasket ??) and also from a missing drain plug, the matting acting as a wick when driving on wet roads and drawing water into the boot. Obviously cant be the drain plug if there is a pool of water - unless theres a hole somewhere not at the lowest point with carpet covering it ?

    Cheers Rob...

Rear light will be my first point of focus (oh god, i mentioned a F**D! ), then i think the ariel seal...ive got a tube of silicone so should be OK with those.

No sign of any holes anywhere for ingress...only other sort of area i considered was the fuel filler, but that seems well sealed...i just remember Carltons pouring in through the locking 'bolt' lol

Found exactly the same on mine about 2 inches of water in the sapre wheel well, further investigation looked like it was coming from near the drivers side rear light.
It was getting dark last night when I discovered it, will have another go nexrt time when it's light.
