    Default Another CDTI failure...

Mine went into Limp home mode just as I was about to go onto the M42 on Saturday.

Dealers looked at it this morning and diagnosed faulty inlet manifold and a faulty swirl valve.

This ones under warranty, thank god! 38,000 miles and two major failures at once, I'm not impressed.

Anyone care to guess how much that lot would have cost out of warranty?

    Ouch!

If this is a known fault, I'd hope Vauxhall would have offered some/all goodwill if it's out of warranty though...

Heh, the 1.9CDTi is starting to make the 2.2DTi look reliable.

I'm starting to think I might go for a 2.2Direct when I upgrade to a Vec later in the year. If I can find one.

Mine had a new inlet manifold @ 36500 miles, exact same symptoms.
Bit worrying since i'd only had it a day.
showed up on the bill at £806 iirc

ZS m8, I'd go for the 2.2 Direct too. I'm still thinking of changing the Vec and a nice 06 2.2 Auto in Elite trim is starting to look very attractive indeed!

Ah, not too fussed on a slushbox, but a 2.2 Direct SRi would suit me fine.

Is it my imagination or are there a lot of CDTi's failing on this lately?

    Too many.

Seriously thinking about a 2.2 Direct myself now. Can't be doing with Turbo's and stuff anymore.
