    Default Petrol Consumption Challenge

Right guys heres a challenge for all petrol motors. At the week end I travelled home from Melrose in the Borders to my home in West Lothian and got 40.7 mpg. Yes I was driving like an old guy on a Sunday etc, but wanted to see what the 2.2 direct would return. I was more than keeping up with the traffic and with gentle caressing of the right foot managed the above figure. I really tried to get to 41 plus but ran out of road!!

Any one beat that for a petrol with 3 in the car?

I do hope you weren't using the computer as an indication, it'll be way off the true mark.

I went down to Newquay last weekend, just me, the missus and a small amount of luggage. On the way back I did the old fill her and reset jobbie. I got 40.5 MPG out of my 1.8, but didn't drive like miss daisy.
