    Default 6x9's in a Saloon ?

Has anybody managed to put some 6x9's in a saloon? The Parcel shelf has metal underneath it and no holes big enough to sit the 6x9's in..

I've got some old JBL's that i'd like to replace my rear door speakers with but i'm just wondering where to put them... any suggestions? (I'm still paying for the car so i don't really want to start cutting holes in it yet!!)

It's not advisable to cut the metal under the parcel shelf on any saloon either, as it is usually structural.

I was wondering if i could literally replace the rear speakers with 6x9's. Again, would mean cutting away at the door panel and i'm not sure if the holes would be big enough in the door itself.

The only other idea i have is to mount them onto a piece of mdf and try to fit the mdf into the hole between the rear seats. I can put the arm rest up to hide them when they're not in use and easily pull it down when i want to lisent to them. Not too sure how big that hole is though.. or if the sub would interefere with their performance.

Why not leave original speakers & get a sub in the boot? That's what I did

Jesus Christ!!! Sure puts mine to shame! lmao

    Aplogies for the huge picture.

I'm on a bit of a budget at the moment due an upcoming holiday, plus the missus would kill me!!

I've replaced the front speakers with some infinty reference 6510's (can't remember the exact model number). They agree with the Alpines 4x60w built in amp but the rear speakers don't and they're distorting a bit at high volumes. Was hoping to disconnect the rear speakers and replace with some JBL 6x9's i have out of my old car. Damn saloon has nowhere to put them though... except the boot if i "modify" the sub box and add a plate at either side for the 6x9's.. but would i hear them if they're in the boot next to the sub?

I want rid of the distortion in the rear speakers but if i disconnect them.. it'll not sound right so i was gonna put the JBL's in so i don't have to spend any money and give a bit more of everything.
