    Default New CDTi Tuning Boxes!

A lot of people with the CDTi engine want to fit a tuning box and a lot have gone for what has now been called the "Caterman Special" as i think i was the first to find and fit this cheap box from Germany.
Some are a bit sceptical due to the back up service as they are all from German companies.
Well just found THESE. Slightly more expensive but look remarkably like the Powerclick boxes. BUT at £99.99 with 24 hour UK support AND a 3 year warranty they could appeal to a lot of people. Also, as it is sold and labelled up as an "ECOBOX" your insurance company might be a little more helpful

Just though i'd share this info with you

Good find, also says they do the 3.0 V6 as well which the Caterman special doesn't work on.

gives you a good idea of a budget for tuning your next diesel, panel filter & one of these will do for me.

Would you have to buy a connecting cable for one of these and what are they called/cost, or is it included? seems a very good deal, especially as they do the 3.0.

Weird site that, it's just a one-page front for the german site. Clicking any link takes you there.

There's an interesting footnote on that main page as well:

    "Please note:
The ECOBOX® *EC1 is not allowed for official road use.."

So they're saying it's illegal to use this on the road?

    Found this in their FAQ's

    13. Is the device allowed for road use?
In some countries, the device is allowed for official road use, in some countries it is not. Please ask your local road traffic licensing department.

Not that the unit is of any use to me of course - only looking!!
