Default ParkPilot Factory Fit (Favour required)

    All,

Many of you may have read that i'm attempting to fit factory rear parking sensors to my Veccy C. I'm using the Bosch/Vauxhall aftermarket kit coupled with Vauxhall factory mounting parts to hopefully get the factory look and not aftermarket look.

I need someone with factory fit park assist (not dealer fit) to give me and exact measurement of the diameter of the hole in the rear bumper. My initial thoughts are that the diameter is 29mm, can someone please check and confirm this for me.

    Much appreciated as always,

    Paul.

    aarrgghhh!!!!..

i just had the rear bumper off the signum yesterday.......i could have measured it then..

one thing i did note is that VX plastic weld some extra 'stiffners' or packing around the holes so the actual sensor sits in twice the bumperskin thickness of packing....so without it they may be loose..

Is the circle inprint on the back not the size of hole which needs to be cut out. I recall mine had a + in the middle of the circle to indicate the central point & for some reason the circle was centrally located in the middle of a square.

the holes on bumpers that are factory are tapered so the sensor sits on a
lip when you push them in.

there shud also be the + to show were the position the sensors should be

That'll be the 'shoulders' we've spoken about Paul - the ones that come on the different bumper if you get factory fit.

As Ben said, isn't the size of the hole indicated on the back of the bumper?

Ah, that must be why Paul is asking then as he has a facelift. You'd have thought they could have left those on!

This throws a spanner in the works then, I looked at my mates Siggy facelift yesterday whic has factory sensors. His sensor is identical to the one I have got with the VX aftermarket kit.

All I wanted was confirmation from the outside that the hole in the bumpers is 29mm which i'm 99% sure it is.

Looking at my mates Siggy his holes are actually straight drilled and not tapered. There is a plastic rectangular sensor holder that glues to the rear of the bumper and this froms the tapered ring around the sensor when pushed in to the hole from the rear.

When I fitted the aftermarket kit to my pre-facelift Vec the locations where to drill where marked with a circle and cross so you made sure you were on centre. I also recall that surrounding these drill templates there was a rectangular template, this is where the plastic sensor holder glued to the bumper sits. On the front of it is the built in sealing ring that gives the recessed look from the outside.

Are we deffo saying that there are no drill templates on the facelifts? Makes the job alot harder!
