    Talking 150 Sri Cdti

Hi all. My first question but no doubt been heard in part before.
Where can i get a workshop manual or any step by step instructions for my 150 (54 Plate).
Its done 62000 and needs a new alternator belt (screeching at idle) and the clutch release bearing is grating on pushing pedal down. Also i think maybe a cam belt change. These are jobs i have done before but never on VX. Clutch kit is rediculous at £300 from VX. I need another option.
    Most grateful for any help.

there isn't a manual for them at the moment, though haynes are working on one..but it's release date isn't for a while..

the cambelt and the clutch release bearing are quite big jobs needing specialist tools ( a locking kit for the cam belt, and an engine beam and set of ramps for the clutch change)

the alternator belt is easy thou, just remove the OS roadwheel and the inner ach liners, look up and you'll see the sprungloaded tensioner.. take the tension off it by moving it against the spring with a 15mm spanner, and then just slip the old belt off, remembering how it runs around the pulleys..then just swap on the new belt, making sure it lies in the grooves of all the pulleys correctly..then re-assemble the inner wing sheild and the wheel..

the clutch kit price is about what you'll be looking at, add another £130 for the cambelt kit, and also add about £90 for the hydraulic clutch release bearing..locking kit will set you back about £200 and the engine beams start at around £90...

thanks. i will do alternator. do your comments mean the bearing is do able with decent engine support cos a mounting is released. I wonder if fiat (engine) or saab (body will give better results on manual search. none on Ebay.

yep, the clutch is easy with an engine beam as you'll have to take the gearbox out to do it...and the cambelt isn't hard, but the locking kit makes it a breeze...
