Alloy wheel refurb started
Here we go managed to get some Refurb work done today , apart from running family around on my day off managed
to get 2 ready one primered the other ready for masking and primer .

They're the same as my wheels, so it will be interesting to see if you get them looking better

so its straight silver for now .
The wheels are decent enough and say Ronal on the inside under all that crap as well as made in poland .
No cracks or welds so seem straight enough .
Can't be any worse than what they were guy's as all four were scuffed .

All done by hand as well since my big mitts wre made long before machines , I have done some before , it's a little time consuming with the tyres on but released most of the air to get a the rims better.
I like doing these as you get a lot of satisfaction when the jobs done plus around a tenner a wheel is not bad either.
Here we are up early before work this evening and primed one more front base coated the other.

give it a slight rub down with 200 grit then degrease and apply the lacquer .
I found 400ml can of primer would do 2 alloys
£2.50 each ALLOY
and Simoniz 500ml can was plenty of base coat for 2 alloys as well givimg plenty of light coats
£3.50 for 2 alloys
£4.99 for lacquer
buy another primer and base coat for the rears .

look slightly gunmetally compared to the original.

good job there.. what did you use to clean up the back of the wheels?
