Default Pretty much all set...just got to pack!

    Hi guys.

Well I've finally convinced the missus to let us drive over to see family in Ireland next week (Thursday)- she prefers to fly but the last few times has been a joke costing an absolute fortune each time and to be treated like cattle - well not my cup of tea!

Anyhow - the missus is dreading keeping our 2 daughters (17month and 3yrs) entertained in the back. She resorted to blackmail in the end letting me take the car as she said she's not going to be the one turning round every 5 minutes keeping them amused etc! That means she wants me to share the driving! NOOOO!!!!!

Not happy with that but at least it avoids all the hassle at the airports!

Well, in readiness I've done the following:

    * Car Serviced.
    * SatNav software updated to the new Navigon MobileNavigator 6.1 - It's about 280mile from home to Pembroke Dock and got to have a toy to play with to keep me amused! lol
    * Parrot Minikit - just received in the post.

At the weekend (weather permitting) I'll be out giving the car a good ol' wash n wax.

I just hope the ferry's on time and the car doesn't let me down!

You should get yourself a portable DVD player from Argos. That'll keep the kids quiet on the journey

Just back from our Easter break to Ireland to see family.
As always - I didn't want to come back to the UK.

My wife and I are thinking of moving there.

Anyhow, car boot loaded to the max.....

    330 miles each way.
Going - Onboard computer reading 32.5mpg - Averaging between 70 and 75mph once off the M25 onto M4.
Coming home yesterday - 35.5mpg. - Averaging between 65 and 70mph due to heavy traffic. (Bank Holiday Monday).

    Chuffed with that.

    (Running on Shell V-power albeit Irish V-Power which isn't 99RON but 95RON!).

(My 2003MY GSi has now broken through the 20,000 mile barrier).

I even managed to wax the car a couple of times out there

    Grant.
