Default cars running away from me

had a couple of unusual experiences tonight ands was wondering if anyone has had the same.

got a cdti 120, and going round a roundabout tonight it seemed to speed up on its own and i had to brake sharpish... the other time i was in 4th going uphill, i took my foot of the gas to slow down a bit and it sped up by its self, was puzzling to say the least.

    anone had these happen

Diesels do tend to do this matey, but it shouldn't be too strong a pull. If it persists have a dealer look at it. A simple software update may cure it.

Cars were always meant to be petrol.
Diesels are meant for dumper trucks.

I think you need to drive any latest generation diesel dude. You're more than welcome to have a spin in mine if we meet at a meet.

oohh.. thats not good...get it sorted before it decides to do a 'runaway' on you.. Once it decides it's burning the engine oil it'll rev it's head off, with no rev limiter either.. it's normally VERY destructive.

My Mate lost his Scenic last year, he was standing outside the car watching it self destruct with the keys in his hand & could do nothing - his normal car insurance actually paid for the repairs as it was determined he was a Numpty & put too much oil in. If the engine had just broken down they wouldn't have paid.

Is the oil level OK? I personally never fill a Turbo Diesel's oil above 2/3 on the dipstick, I've heard of too many TD engines expiring as above.

about all you can do in situations like this is to bung the air intake with whatever you can.. coat, jumper etc and push real hard, you want to kill the airflow into the engine..that will stop it running..
