but i agree the boot does look a bit long for a hatch, but i doubt its a saloon, the c-pillar slope is far too gradual

Wrong - the shape of the rear 'quarter light' is different on the Vectra C Saloon than on the hatch - my last car was a Vectra C Saloon. Picture reminds me of a Focus saloon, but it probably isn't.
