Different box i'm afraid...the vectra C has more 'gears' in it, as i recall my vectra B only had a 4 speed box..

Has it gone because of water getting in the box? or has it just burnt out?..

if it's water, then you could try just changing the radiator and flushing the box through with several full changes of ATF transmission fluid.. that may cure it for you, it all depends on how long the box was 'wrong' for...if it was only contaminated for a very short time you may well save it.

If it was water, as well, make sure they do change the engine rad as that'll be where it came in from..

If it's just burnt out, then you'll need another box, or get the existing one rebuilt..Have you tried E-bay for another vectra-c box??.. they are out there.. or a specialist vauxhall dismantlers?..

try searching in the yellow pages under ' automatic gearbox specialists'.. they will list all the local one's to you..

I'm about 40 miles out of london, so my local one prob won't be any use to you....

it could be about a week, and they do bookings..

Their number is 01525 385159.. ask them for a quote, and see what they see..

they did a cracking job on a mondeo box for me..

Don't rebuild it, it will be broken again in a short period, recon or a second hand one is the way to go, if it's second hand ideally try to see it in the donor car 1st, as it gives you an idea of it's condition, anything over 60k avoid unless you are gonna shift the car soon afterwards.
