Default Arnold Clark Pollokshaws - Hopeless

Took the car into Arnold Clark, Pollokshaws, Glasgow to have the DPF checked as per the recall.
Whilst there I asked if they would check the rear Shocks as they were making a creeking noise going over speed bumps. I explained that I informed them of this at a previous service last year and that it had not been resolved even though they told me they had tightened it up.
Its still under warranty so I thought they would sort it out.
They say yes you need new shocks that will be £110.
I said does the warranty not cover this.
No shocks are only covered for 3000miles yes thats right 3000miles.
Despite arguing my point he would not budge.
I then went to the parts department for some things whilst there I ask the chap if I really need 5w-30 Long Lige oil for my diesel Signum.
Replied "naw you can use any of the Vx oils".
Am I going back to Arnold Clark..............Nope.
Good garages are hard to find.

I've had that SHOCK before, I thought they'd be covered but alas no, had mine serviced today and they seem to have done a good job, Evans Halshaw, and a repair job done at Inscape a few mths back was also done with good service, as for the oil issue, the parts guy is only telling you half the story there, it's ok to use semi, but it wont last as long as fully, so if you want to service on a 10k plan 10/40 will do, if you want to run it to 20k you need 5/30. hth

Not anymore VV, the lastest 'blurb' from VX says that any car equipped with a deisel particulate filter should only run the 5W30 VX brew...or excess sulphur contents in other oils may kill the filter ( and that makes DTi fuel pumps look cheap)..

oh, and Dazzh... you title is spot on...

    Cheers Grumpano,

You would have thought that they would have picked up on that.
Just goes to prove how bad they really are.
