Default Advice on cambelt or chain

Just been onto Vauxhall (Burnham Garage) to enquire about the up coming 60k service on the Signum 2.0T (Petrol) and I asked about cam belt change, was advised these do not have cam belts but chains and doesn't need changing? Is this correct as I thought it was the 2.2 that had chains.

If it's right then brilliant, cost of service (minor) £119 all in.

    Can I also ask this:
As the 2.2 has a chain which apparently never needs changing but what about water pump, tensioner and rollers. Anyone have a picture with the cover off. Do we not need to change the rollers and tensioner?

    Chees as well

Excellent thanks for that, so is £119 all in for a minor service a reasonable price??

The chain does need changing in time mate. I had a vectra b 150SRi which has the chain ok it was on about 125k but the engine started to get a bit noisy & had a very slight misfire on cylinder 4 (which i thought was the coil pack at first) this was due to the chain beggining to slack so had to be changed. As a result it ran sweet as a nut & lost the misfire. You can tell when it needs dong

Glad you were not one of the ones that had it snap like mine did!!

Had to get a replacement engine in the end.

Ouch gotta say it's a cracking engine but some people think that because it's a chain it don't need looking after (not saying you did'nt but you get what i mean mate)

I know what you mean, mine didn't have the (Oh so secret at Vauxhall) modified oil spray fitted that puts oil on the chain and in time the chain dryed up and the rest is history. Out of warranty as well, and Vauxhall didn't want to know. Had to get second hand engine and fit that and then sold the car on, still going strong now, sometimes think should of kept it!!

Any way sorry back on topic
