    Default carriage company - sending alloys...

    ....has anyone ever sent alloys to someone (posted)

    i am selling my SRi alloys and have been asked by a few people about posting them but dont have a clue how to go about organising it!???

    just phone who u want ie DHL tell them they give u price u pay by C/Card they pick it up job done.

    alloys prob cost u around £30 to send

    i think ive seen companies on ebay that do it next day for £35

    Ian (tommoturbo) has bought mine and thay are being picked up by a Courier on Friday. Might be worth asking him.

    I used some industrial waste bags which are huge along with a load of packing tape. I was bit dubious at first but they look ok. I'll post a picture when I get home.

    I have the courier tracking ticket provided by Ian as well

    thanx guys - my new rims arrive tomorrow so hoping to use the boxes they come in!!

    cheers!!

    (i was pretty sure i didnt need to pop down the local post office with them in the boot and hand them over....always best to check tho eh!)

    like i said im hoping to use the boxes that my new wheels should arrive in.

    Have a look at www.parcel2go.com (they are a subsidiary of DHL) as they offer decent rates. They went through a period (after starting off brilliantly) where their service declined (consignments not picked up etc.) but they seem to have got back on track. I think it was due to their popularity and their systems not being able to deal with the growth.

    I used http://www.parcel2go.com/ sending a towbar that I sold on Ebay and they were great, and so much cheaper than every other courier I contacted even DHL
