    Default Sonax stuff

Is the stuff they sell in Vaux dealers any good? I was looking for a non acidic wheel cleaner and saw the Sonax stuff. It must be pretty good as Michael Schumacher uses it!

    Any good alternatives?

The sonax stuff is quite good...i use the shampoo and it doesnt leave smears when ya rinse off which makes polishing easier. I also use the engine lacquer like Paul but dont think thats available in many vx dealers any more.

With regards to car shampoo, I've got some green Zymol stuff that I've not used yet. Any good?

no idea. The stuff you get in halfords isnt really the stuff the Zymol are renowed for. Its more of a cheap version using the name to sell its product, rather than the quality selling the product. eg, they make a wax that cost £5800 per tin.... mad. Even the entry level carnuaba wax is nearing £100. Then they make a wax the sell in halfords for £12. See where im coming from?

Have a look on www.autopia.org in its review section. Its american but lots of stuff is available over here

I've just bought some Meguirs Gold Shampoo and conditioner. Never used Meguirs before but you all seem to rate it. I'll try it on my next days off.

Zymol is really nice to use - lovely smell - But I've worked my way through Autoglym, then Zymol and now Meguires - and Megs is out in front at the moment, with some choice Autoglym products. The zymol polish tended to swirl and was quite white - so on certain colours it works better. Sonax at my local dealer is being phased out - it isnt shifting and diamondbrite is really not worth the extra.

Find some of my product reviews here......
