    1) Front windscreen seal - but they're bonded, so highly unlikely
    2) Heater matrix / air con matrix is leaking - but is the coolant level low?
    3) Rear Hatch seal is knackered - you'd be surprised where water ingress ends up
    4) Air intake to passenger compartment is bunged up with leaves & crud, meaning water is collecting in the bulkhead area & leaking in eventually.

I assume the car hasn't been in the bodyshop & they've forgotten to put a grommet back or something?

Hope all this is of some hope.

Do you mean the air con matrix? They're supposed to drip a little (humidity etc) but there's a run off pipe to under the car somewhere - not enough to cause a flood in the footwell.

Check that boot seal - or the rear doors.

Also check the drain tube under the pollen filter.
Door seal is a common fault too.

Had this prob with a Ford Fiesta, the pipe for the aircon condensate drain became blocked every 6 months or so & I had to climb under the car to open it up but aircons shouldn't really be in use this time of year, so it's unlikely.

That's the bit I meant above - you take out the glovebox & there it is behind a black cover. Just slides out. It stops pollen, leaves, mud... everything!!!

I had same thing with my Edition 100 2.0T when I bought it 18 months ago on Network Q. Problem caused by the drip tray under the plastic area at the bottom of the windscreen - only has a few small holes for water to drain away. Mine had become blocked or debris (leaves, bits of twig etc.) had accumulated underneath meaning that water ended up in the passenger footwell , perishing a grommet on the way.

Seems that the Network Q 114-point check is a load of cobblers cos they missed it, but sorted OK under Network Q warranty. I was told it was well 'bunged up' . I believe the first owner couldn't be ar$ed to check, as it's a common potential problem area. I park under trees (no choice) but at least it's in a driveway, and I monitor it closely, and have not had a problem since. Hope this helps.

P.S. Wonder why VX stopped using the 'lattice' effect above the drip tray (hope I'm describing this right),with lots of room for the water to drain away, as seen on the old Astras.

That's where I would check first. Haven't had the problem, but it seems to have been the cause of water in the footwell for a number of people.

Also try this grommet. It was the cause of water in my car. Just under right hand side of scuttle.
