Any suspension or brake gurus
Hi guys, 1st off I apologise for posting about an Astra but I could use some advice. My wife's Astra G Sri is making a grinding noise on the n.s.f wheel assembley. Only way I can explain it is relating to the backing plate on the rear of the hub hitting the disk.
So far i have changed the following.
New disks & pads (pagid)
New wheel bearing
New caliper
New drive shaft.
The problem still remains, cold or hot no matter. What's really confusing is when turning left the noise will pretty much go away when turning right it gets worse.
So everything fitted is brand new & I'm at a loss scratching my arse wondering what to try next.
Any idea's?

Or check the anti roll bar mounts for being loose , track rod ends , cv joints , drop links

aye sounds like top bearing, relatively cheap fix to do yourself if youve got the gear

Sorry I should have elaborated. It's a constant rotational noise. Like metal to metal pads rubbing on disk. I can't see a top mount causing said noise myself but that said I'm not qualified in vehicle maintenence.
Track rod ends I doubt would cause rotational grinding noise as with drop links also. More associated with knocking noises. Driveshaft on nsf has been changed so that eliminates the cv.

suspension strut rotates when you turn , thats why suggested the top bearing on the suspension strut .
Get someone to turn the wheel left to right see where you can hear the noise coming from ,HTH

Straight line whilst moving or right hand bend. Will not make noise stationary as car is not moving.
Another thing to mention is with car jacked up, spin the nsf wheel there is no noise. It only seems to make the noise when on the ground moving.
