the CDTi does take an age to warm up..My dads takes about that far as well....
the petrols heat up quite a bit quicker.
Mine starts to give a bit of heat from the heater after a couple of miles but i can get to town (5 miles) and the gauge will have barely moved.
3-4miles for mine. i know exactly whereabouts i am on the way to work when it starts to move
Mine takes a while too. I was lead to believe that its because the diesel block is a lot thicker and absorbs more heat before it warms the water up.
holding it at 4000rpm till it warms up normally helps me
...
Similar here, around 3-4 miles. Warms up pretty quick when I get up to speed on the motorway, a bit longer on other roads.
About 7 to 8 miles for me too or about 15 minutes before the needle moves.
about 2 miles or 4ish mins
