Default Car installation for QTEK 9100?

    Hi,

Has anyone got one of these things (or similar - it goes under various branded guises)? I just got one and need to fit it in the car and my current Nokia system won't talk to it via bluetooth.

Any recommendations for a car kit? I heard good things about Parrot, even if they are French and may have been built as well as my Ren-no.

Thanks in advance for any advice/gratuitous abuse

Thought I did an install using a Nokia CK-7W bluetooth kit with a QTEK9100, I'm sure it was one of them &no way did I think it was going to work. Spent 45 minutes on the phone to office asking if anyone knew if it was compatiblein which time I just pulled out the radio & quickly wired it up on the seat & bingo it worked a treat. That was with the CK-7W kit though which has a silver dial & button for answering. If the one you have is bronze in colour then that would be the CK-1 & is pretty much good for the bin now days. The bluetooth software is far out dated on them they don't even work with new Nokia phones.

Otherwise though your best bet would be a Parrot kit, they work with just about anyhing.

Parrot are very good at working with unusual phones/pda's, also they have ISO plugs as standard so can be plug+play.

Thanks - it is the CK-7W that i have and am surprised that it won't work. It was however installed (in this car not the last) to use the hard wire since I had a 6230i at the time.

How do I manually get them to pair up - maybe I'm just not doing it right?

    Thanks

So do you actually have the button fitted also?
To pair the phone you'll need the ignition switched on. On your phone somewhere will be a bluetooth menu and on from that a search for new device option. When it's finished searching it should show it's found "CK-7W". Select this then it will ask for the pass code which will be 0000.
Then from there it may ask if it should connect automatically which you'd want. If it doesn't ask you this you may find this option under the devices options.

Hope that makes sense, it's a very generalisation as phones behaviour can vary so much especially with the PDA type phones.

Thanks for that - much appreciated. I tried as you said already but didn't work....... I had heard about Nokia Bluetooth not speaking to the rest of the world bluetooth and wondered if it was that. However, you get it working so there must be a fault with the kit somewhere.

    Cheers

Have just checked what a QTEK9100 is & yes I'm sure that is what was used. It may be a case the CK-7W I used being brand new had more up to date software.
You might find a sneaky box exchange with a new unit may work.
