Padlock symbol

hi all, im on my kness here, doing some beggin,the padlock light on my dash decides its gonna keep coming on, hence no start(vectra 1.8 ls, 52 plate). take the key out a couple of times an its ok for a few, any "cheap" ideas lol , cheers in advance. cool site by the way i been lookin round for ages!!

it's an immobiliser fault mate.. main dealer only i'm afraid...

Do you have a spare key to try? sounds like a key fault.

i had the same problem tried the spare key and that worked took car to dealer and got the other key sorted out

it seems vauxhall in their wisdom have deemed to remove from sale the early "c" keys, maybe because of faults??? now i have to wait till the move my name up the list to get one of the new flip type. last heard people had ordered in december and still not got!!!
