    Talking Rear doors

The new Veccy is my first ever car with rear doors and yesterday the wife and I went out with my parents with me driving. We were going to the Clarks Village shopping centre and when we got there mum and dad, who were in the back, couldn't get out. You've guessed it, the child locks were on!

I never thought to check whether they were on as, having owned 3 3-door cars and 1 2-door one, I've never had child locks before!

I'm always locking people in or out cos I only usually unlock my door & then forget so I clamber in while everyone else is desperately grabbing at the door handles. Or I lock them from inside with the button, pull up to drop someone off & bu99er, they can't get out.

My family know this well now & usually prompt me to open the doors before they even try them. My missus has just found the button in the passenger door so she lets herself out now.

Probably mixed opinion on this but actually quite like the 2 stage unlocking. I feel a bit safer knowing some little oik isnt going to open my pasenger door at some traffic lights, grab my wallet or mobile etc and make off like lynford christie into some run down housing estate

Dead right Andy - the 'anti-hijack' feature really is a great idea!

Mine also locks all the doors as I drive away. So one hit to unlock all doors, and they auto lock at about 10 MPH. They stay locked until either the button on either front door panel is pressed, the ignition is switched OFF, or the car is crashed - but I haven't tried this last one, and don't want to.
