    Default Some help please guys.

    Hi guys,
I brought an insignia cdti sri navi today, the car has no power at all were the turbo would kick in, very very slow pick up.
Checked it over with my obd scanner but no faults.
Does it sound like a total turbo fail? Or has anyone had a similar issue? Rest of the car is totally fine no issues.
    Thanks in advance guys.

Sounds like a fault I still have whereas when the car is cold its ok, but when warm it shuts the turbo down, I had a local chap look at mine sometime ago and it was diag as the swirl valves, 2K miles and £700 later its doing it again, I dont think the mech cleaned the EGR valve after the new swirls were fitted and its clogged them up again, try unplugging the MAF sensor from the airbox connection (the plug nearest the airbox) like I did and it runs fine (with the fault light now on of course), next thing Im going to try is a new EGR valve and cooler as its due for MOT early August, plus some fuel / EGR / cleaner.
Let us know how you get on ?

Sounds like nothing more than a burst boost hose at the moment or an intercooler pipe come off. Give all the pipes a going over, it should be fairly obvious if you have such a degree of power failure but it can be amazing how small a hole/rip/tear needs to be to cause drastic power loss.

I've had this happen to me once when I was in another state in a complete different town. Quite far from home I was. May not be much but it sure as heck helped me to rent another car for the day while mine was being repaired. I contacted a rental company and I was lucky enough to get a bonus, got the car for a cheaper price for the day.
