Post Anyone know what this plug is for?

Hi, does anyone know what this plug is for? (pictures attached).

It is in the same harness as the cig lighter socket is on. We have a double socket for the lighter, on for the light around the lighter, but one spare.. Any ideas?

The plug concerned is the one you can see in the pictures, the cig lighter ones are stuffed down the hole for the lighter..

I've just popped my lighter/ashtray out to have a look as I was curious myself (I know, the lengths admin go to for the members!! ) and I can't see any additional plug.

I've got the two black plugs that go into the cig lighter and the white plug that plugs into the bottom of the ashtray light - and that's it!

Are you the first owner? If not, does it look like a factory wired thing, or has someone maybe added something?

Ashtray light? I think you may have it there. Do you mean that there is a light that can be put into the ashtray itself? As the two black plugs do go to the cig lighter, one for the heating element and one for the light ring around it. The remaining plug - the white one I have spare. Hence wondered what is was for. But if there is light that can go in the ashtray, then that's what the plug must be for....

    Cheers..

Yes, it'll be the plug for the little light that goes on the left of the ashtray. I reread your post and I thought that's what you had found, now realise that it was the lighter surround light you were referring to!!

LOL - no probs. If I'd read your original post a bit more carefully I probably wouldn't have needed to go out and look, I could've answered it straight away. I was off looking for a fourth wire/plug!!
