Thumbs down Problem with Vectra 1.9 CDTi 150

Not Happy, woke up this morning intending on going out however once the car had been started with would not budge off the driveway. The rev's kept dropping and the car would stall. When i tried to press the accelerator the revs would not go up despite having my food firmly to the floor.

The seems to be more smoke than usual coming from the exhaust but there are no warning symbols lit up on the dash.

The is the first time its done this, the AA came out (car still under warranty but only until Oct 07) and the engineer was confused but after a bit of tinkering he managed to get the accelerator to respond but only slightly.

Its currently at Vauxhall (hopefully whatever needs doing is covered under warranty).

Anybody else has the same problem???

I've not heard of that one before, but it could be something simple like the sensor on the accelerator needing replacing, as they dont use cables anymore.

Yeah probably a sensor somewhere, maybe a temp sensor ? anyhow, having your foot firmly to the floor with a cold engine is bound to p&ss it off IMO

I had a CDTI that did something similar, every time I went to pull away the revs would drop and it would stall, I could keep my foot to the floor and the revs would slowly build, but as soon as I lifted the clutch it would stall again, apparently in the end it was something to do with carbon build up on something or other - I really shouldn't post replies without knowing what I am talking about!

I'll mention that to Vauxhall tomorrow as they seem to be scratching their heads at the moment.

Sorry - I just sent some details which included the name of the Garage it was fixed at, the date and the registration of the car which I didn't want to post publicly - although I don't own this car anymore someone may.

Nothing of any real interest I am afraid.

Still not got my car back, Vauxhall are scratcing their heads as they don't know what is wrong with it. They have now changed the MAF sensor, injectors but still no joy. The parts have made it run slightly better.
