    Default Sport/TC switches

    Hi everyone,

    I've been reading some old posts about the above, and decided to take a look at my car.

    Here are my findings;

    if you look closely, the top blank switch has a connection in it - what would go in here (tc/sport)? I'm not really fussed if it would work, but if it lit up when the lights are on it would be nice. (would it be safe to stick an electrical screwdriver in to see?)

    thanks

    Yes that would be the T/C switch at the top.

    So if I bought one - it would work (or at best light up?)

    Reading previous thread, I was under the impression that I didn't have TC.

    I'd rather have a sport switch than TC - could I plug that in?

    If IRC you have the blue plug behind the plate then it should light up, whether it will work or not is anyones guess.

    I think the sport button goes in the bottom space.

    Edit: I think also that facelift models do not have T/C anyway, so the best you could hope for is that it lights up. I stand to be corrected.

    Upper switch is Traction Control, Lower one is Sport. There's no light on the button - if I press it I get a warning light on the instrument cluster telling me I've turned the TC off.

    They must have changed the style of the switch, i'm sure they used to have an LED on them.

    On my 56 plate sri (with TC and ESP plus) the traction control button does dothing other than fill the space.
    On my previous 04 reg SRI the switch worked perfectly, lighting up the instrument cluster LED and actually turning off TC.

    I think that the TC switch does nothing on the full canbus cars.

    I think yours might be a bit broken. It definitely causes the "car-attacked-by-snakes" light to illuminate on the dash on mine.
