    Angry 2.2 dti turbo misery!!

Just drove car home from work, the phrase lacking power is an understatement! (It was fine going the 2 miles to work this morning).
It seems that the turbo is simply not kicking in at all. feels like driving with the handbrake on. anyone know if this is a common problem wth this engine (or the likely causes). the car is out of warranty by 5 months but only has 26000 miles so as you can imagine i am absolutely livid!

    further facts that may help:

    1 standard engine (no mods)

    2 never thrashed

    3 full serice history

    4 oil level is fine

    5 no warning lights on

6 turbo seems to be extremely hot even though its not working!

please help a desperate vauxhall owner

    shaun T

Sounds similar to symptoms reported by other owners with split hoses.

Get it to the dealer, Tech2 should shed some light on what may the source of the problems.

AndrewsSRI I believe had similar problems and I think it was down to split hoses etc (may be worth looking at his threads).

Default Ive got the exact same problem

Sounds like the turbo is working, but the power is going nowhere....

There is a whisltly noise that comes when i attempt to accelorate, its really sluggish, there is more smoke than usual from the exhaust and the fuel consumption has gone thru the roof.....

    Any ideas?
