Unless someone has a full can bus loom for sale I could buy
You won't need a full loom. The rain sensor loom is a seperate one (although they are all taped up together, they can be seperated).

The preface rainsensor has a different plug on the end of the loom to the facelift one, so you will need that loom for that reason.

The plug into the REC is the same though, it's only the sensor end of the loom that is different

The plug on the facelift loom was damaged so I took it off that and fitted it onto the pre facelift loom. I've tried the wiring both ways in the plug but it makes no difference. I can unplug the sensor and the auto lights still come on. The wipers do nothing at all. When it was tech2d I heard something about a short in the sensor but it may be the loom somewhere. All I can do is separate the canbus loom from the sensor and plug that into the rec and see if that makes a difference.

do you have the rain sensor activated in the UEC? - it controls the wiper motor and lights

That's the thing, I'm not sure he went into the uec when he programmed it. In going to go back and see if he did.
Ge better not try and charge me again for the tech2 session. He messed up the first time.

A follow up to this problem. The headlights still work the same as before. The auto wipers still don't work. I've had tech2 on car and it has said short in headlight switch(dash dim switch). Has anybody come across this?? Is a new switch needed to solve this? I have heard somewhere about a
wire going into rear of headlight switch but don't know exactly what the deal is.
    Any advice would be great.

Could it be the wrong headlight switch? I think @Z80 has mentioned that there's an auto light switch for preface signums that's wired differently

I've got another switch in now. It all works the same but I can dim the dash lights now, whereas before they wouldn't dim at all. I've not had tech2 on yet to check if it's "fixed" that fault code. Once I've had it checked I'll post on here if it worked or not.

Sorry mate. I have mislead you there. The rainsensor is integrated into the main loom. It is the dimming mirror which is seperate.

Hope that hasn't confused too many issues there

The switch is only about ordering the BCM to activate auto lights mode.

It has nothing to do with the wipers.

However, for the auto wipers to work, maybe you need a stalk having the sentitivity roller on top of it ? I don't know if they're the same as for cars without a rain sensor (provided there are some). Or maybe the roller works as a speed control in this case.
