    Default 1.8VVT Gear Linkage

The stiffness in and out of gears isn't getting any better especially first where sometimes can't get it in without pulling back and giving it a waggle.

Already changed the oil and lubed both ends of the linkage.

Anyone found a good price for a new linkage?

Anyone know how to do the adjustment?

    Cheers

This is something I want to do myself, it looks complicated, but it is probably easy when you have done it.
Here is the link I am saving for when I have a go, but I'm sure I remember seeing a better one with more pictures, but where?

I didn't get a replacement linkage, i did something similar to what the Saab repair kits (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFd_zp4f7GY) do.

Watch the video, it will explain what the problem is, if it's the same as mine anyway.

Is it side to side movement which is a problem ? ie, difficult to get into first and Very difficult to get into Reverse?

Just re-read, It's probably not even the same gearbox, so may not be relevant.

Internally it will be the same as the above link, unclip cables, drop the clip bit, and fix the lever in place.

Next will be remove battery box, and If it's anything like the F40, there is a hole which you can align, and put a drill bit in to lock it in place.

Then simply connect the cables back up inside.

Thanks very much Steve. A How To on this would be a good thing for many members methinks.
