    Default CDTI Tunning Box Pictures

Hi all new to this forum just got my vectra 2 weeks ago !
I have been reading this forum for a while and found it very useful
I have been looking at the different tunning boxes for my SRI CDTI 150 on ebay and there are lots of different types. The problem being that they all look different but all seem to have the CR **** wording on them. I have read through loads of posts on tunning boxes and the CR1 seems popular but are these boxes on ebay proper CR1's ?
I have attached some of the units pictures below can anyone identify which are CR1's and which are good ?
If anyone has any other pics of different units can they post them just think tuning boxes are a minefield and pictures of the units will help

the CR1 is just a variable resistor with a few other small eletrical bits..thats all it is really..the boxes are just fancy packaging..all different, but with the same style 'guts' internally..

If you want a tried and tested ( by many members on this forum) value box, then can i suggest you do a search in the diesel tuning section for the 'caterman special' box.. it's on ebay, but costs only £65 delivered from germany..had NO bad reports about it at all.. Gives around 185-190BHP..

Totaly agree, such a minefield knowing which one to buy, i just bought this one for my V6 CDTI,

For the simple reason it was at the right money on ebay.

Should be fitting today so will let you know what its like.

    okay, okay with the pics...

as i said before..they're just packaging.... nothing else..

the V6 won't work on the caterman box...and the boxes are different for the V6 between the pre and post facelift..

But the caterman special will work on the 4 pot CDTi's...as will any CR1.. you pays yer money and you makes yer choice..

there's an awful lot of overpriced one's on EBAY..so shop around..

Certainly is, it does what the others do for the 4 pot CDTi's only just a damn sight cheaper. It is not adjustable but what it is set at is just right

    Thanks for the response
It would be nice if we could attach a picture of a unit and add a name to it and a description etc.. and anyones experience of it ? just to help people in future as like you said there are lots of CR units which are the same internally but look different !

Why would folks need to identify them??....

most do exactly what they say on the tin..it's just the price and the seller that varies..
