Default A few common mods to get you started...

    Common Upgrades & Tips…

The following upgrades are a selection of easy jobs to get you modding, easiest at the top..

    Valve Cap Covers.

Change those black caps for a set of shiny ones, colour code or get a logo, just make sure you get antitheft ones or they won’t see the night out.

    Irmscher Mats

Irmscher mats are custom fit and set the inside of the car off and are hard wearing.

    Alloy Pins

Replace those ugly plastic door lock pins with some metal ones. The red piece of plastic simply pulls out and you can pull them off and place on some shiny door pins.

    Irmscher Fuel Cap Cover

Simply a sticker which goes over your existing cover, not everyone’s cup of tea.

    Switchable Traction Control.

Some early Vectras have the wiring for switch able traction control installed. If 0the blank above the alarm switch to the right of the stereo has a blue plug behind it you should be OK. Simply replace the blank with a TC switch and away you go.

    Sunglasses Holder.

This is the easiest mod you can do, the blank plate from behind the interior light simply pulls out and the sunglasses holder clips in place, ideal mod to do in conjunction with the map reading light.

    Map reading Light.

The map reading light from the Elite can easily be fitted as a direct replacement for the basic light. This will give you 4 buttons instead of the 1 or 2 in the standard light and give you 2 map reading lights. A very simple job.

    Front Grille

The Vauxhall front grille can be changed for a different one depending on your taste, choose from, Irmscher, Opel, Holden, Steinmetz or Regal to name a few. A simple unscrew and screw job..

    Smoked Indicators

The indicators at the front simply unclip, a quick coat of black tint spray and clip them back in, looks particularly good on Black and Ultra Blue cars

    Alloy Pedals

Change the rubber on the pedals for some aluminium ones. Pull the rubber off and replace with the metal ones. (Requires you to drill holes in the pedals)

    Signum Fog Surrounds.

The fog surrounds of the Signum can be fitted to the fog lights on a Vectra GSi/Sri. This is a relatively easy job and gives you a nice chrome surround.

    Tyres
The standard 215/50x17 on the Sri/Gsi are an expensive size as they are uncommon, when your fronts have had it replace them with 225/45x17 and swap back to front so the 225`s are on the rear, then match them up when you wear out the fronts. The 225`s are a lot cheaper and a perfect fit.

That's OK until he has to work on and you have the dilemma of how to get a lift home!

Been and done it and it's a pain!

Directed more to the Ozzies,.. but you northern Hemisphere types can reply also Does anyone know where / what is the best way to go about getting one of those front grills here in Oz ? We appear to have an extreme lack of non-genuinne / non-standard parts for these beauties here...

    cheers

    G'day Mercury.

I suspect you mean the Irmscher grill which is the 8th picture above?

The best way is too order direct through Irmscher mate. Unless you can find a genuine Irmscher grill on ebay for less $$ then the Irmscher website is the way to go. Another option is to buy one from one of the members on here. You never know there may be someone wanting to part with their grill
