I had a scooby imported for me was awesome, great experience but watched my money go away every week, i had it running at 330bhp, 0-60 in 4.9, i could beat 400 cc motorbikes on a standing start and she went straight to 160mph easy, now do you want one

Next the clutch went £500 new one, it ate brakes they weren't cheap, radiator went to as they cant handle the pressure after a while £200,
Then the best bit you have to run them on super unleaded and then better to use octane boost as jap cars run on over 100 ron fuel, i did 150mile to a full tank and i kept the car 8 months and did 8000 miles now work out how much money i spent on fuel then think what you could do with it

There's some info for you matey

i owned a scooby import last summer, running @ 320bhp and practiaccl;y no suspesnion - it was the most fun i've ever had in a car - the noise (burble) and speed is absolutely phenomenal!

however i was getting around 85 miles to £20 and that was driving steady - basically i couldnt really afford to boot it - i drive my vec a LOT faster now!

it cost me a firtune to run and despite and the smile's and fun i was glad to sell it in the end.....however i do think its a greta car to own for say 6 months over summertime.

helps if your handy with cars else it gets sooooo expensive!

i bet this prob aint helped at all really but just my opinion!!

It only hit me how much I really liked my Vec as it was being driven up the road by someone else.

Think very carefully before you sell, 'cause when it's gone....it's gone!

ive got a nissan 300zx twin turbo and that cripples your wallet. if theres a problem with it, i get it sent to either z centre (200 miles away) or to Abbey motorsport in surrey (350 miles away). last time it was in abbey motorsport to get the new greddy management system in i had to put it on a dynapack (special rolling road) which costs 100 quid / hour then i have to get it there and back (at least 300 quid)..clutch = 650.......tyres (at back) = 340 EACH (very soft yokohama).......new wiring loom gone in = 400........car only does 17mpg standard so by the time i have the greddy system on that drops to about 12-13mpg? on shell optimax WITH octane boost......about 65 miles to 20 quid.
if you think vec tuning is expensive..............
    300zx car...........5500
    bodykit (orginal from japan).......600
wheels (hasemi prot gt split rims 18inch) 93000 yen EACH (about 450 NOT inc vat, import duty or tyres)
    tein suspension.......600
    kakimoto full exhaust.......950 (imported)
    hks fuel / air controller.......420
    greddy ecu / management......570
    TWIN hks SQV dump valves.....500
    TWIN hks air filters.....300
cam belt change (first one! 47000 miles).....650
    i have bills for thousands......
    insurance....ha ha ha ha ha
and on and on and on.............
will i get my money back?? NO
car has cost me an arm and a leg...and is it still running right? NO so heres to more money spent this spring/summer.
people see jap cars as cheap runarounds..yes they are cheap to buy but maintain...forget it!
plus i only do about 2500miles a year in her so you work out the cost!

I had a Scooby WRX as a hire car (Yes a hire car - Budget in fact!!) last time I went on business to Northern Ireland.

Have to say, wanted one, drove one, don't want one anymore. I am 6'2" and felt very uncomfortable with the driving position. car went like stink but had the back ache from hell to go with it - and that was only after 2 days...
