hi mate - when i was toying between the 2.2 direct and the 1.9 cdti SRI models, i was told that the best mod is a remap and full exhaust.....

Mate, glad to see another 2.2 owner making enquiries, think it's fair to say that all the 2.2 direct owners (later models) are really happy with their motors.

I've fitted a BMC air filter (OEMfit) AND DE-Resticted the air box,and MAN AM I HAPPY!

Used K&N before, it was great, but this filter is awesome, fit on and leave the bonnet open, turn the engine and press the pedal, and chop me up and throw me to the lions,if you don't agree how sexy the sucking sound is as she draws in air!!
Honestly i'm so impressed with it,bought the cleaning kit too,and just used it for the first time, really easy just fitted a paper one in it's place while it dried off for a day or 2. IT cleaned very well and should last a very long time!
Drop some Nitroux fuel additive in the tank and you'll be a very happy man.
I'd be interested to see what bhp gain i've achived,as i say it goes soooo well!!

check the link for the BMC filter

Absolutely no reason why not mate!
Your freeing up the air flow to the combustion chamber, which would work on a Model T Ford leave alone an 03 Veccy!!!!

Being an 03 you'll also see a big difference if you haven't cleaned the system through with a either a fuel additive,or spray that is induced directly into the air intake.

Now Nitrous do a range of additives that work superbly well, the best one to go for is the yellow super street if you haven't used one before.

    See the link below,
    http://www.nitrousformula.com/productyellow.htm

I simply drop a bottle in every now and again, and it's a lot of fun whilst it's running through the engine too!

Now run your tank till nearly empty, and drop a bottle in the fuel neck, top up with Shell V Power,or Tesco 99 ron. And DON'T go back to ordinary unleaded!
I think i'm right in saying that your ECU adjusts to the richer formula, although i could stand to be corrected on this.

Then when you feel the difference i want you to put a Huuuuuge post on the forum saying how amazing i am and thank me so much cause i'm amazing!!!

LOL ONLY JOKING!!!! Now go on what you waiting for?
    Have Fun!!!!!

Well when you do get those bits and you will be happy, obviously if i came across a 1.9 cdti with a tuning box on the same stretch of motorway as me i'm sure it would be fun to play with, but so far every one that i've come across must be standard, because they haven't lived with me for long
Thats what i'm talking about, unless fuel economy or tuning is your main bag,a 2.2 direct will impress you more than enough.

I haven't even changed the exhaust yet!!! LOL
Keep in touch and let us know how your getting on when you've collected, please don't hesitate to PM me if you need any help.
