    Default Awesome Power....

.....I was really impressed with my cdti 150 when i bought it...however after owning a 320bhp impreza last summer and a couple of +200bhp cars recently...i did want a bit more out of it!

since i had my tuning box fitted i cant stop smilling when driving it now - 1st gear, as with all diesels, isn't much to write about but after then its an absolute BEAST!! i cant believe the pull in it. and i'm still averaging 49mpg with mixed driving, (and hardly slow either )....really pleased i found such a gem of a family/luxury/sports car!!

just wondered....what else can you do to the cdti 150 to get a few more bhp out of it? i was told mines running at around 185bhp now but would like to hear of more ideas to extend my current smile!!

    Vehicle : Vauxhall

    Trim : very

    Engine : Z19DTH

    Year : Nosey

There are a few things you could do to get more out of it

It all depends on how far you want to go?

    options include...

    Performance filter
    Modifying the airbox
adding additional air filters (I have two)
Exhaust (even the CAT if you have a pre-particle filter car)
    Remaps
Suspension and tyres will help get the torque down and stay down
    Water/alcohol/CO2 cooling of the intercooler
    front mounted intercooler
    Charge cooler
    NOS
    New turbo

    That's the extreem end.

I can get 212-213bhp out of mine (had the same result from 3 rolling roads)

thanx matey - when u say air filters do you mean like a cone induction kit, or just a panel filter?

i have g-max suspension springs all round now too.

dont wanna go too crazy as i dont have the huge budget for it but anything on the cost effective side to push it up to 200bhp would be nice......

If it's 200bhp you're after dude. A good tuning box, air filter and exhaust should see you reach your target. There's also some turbo pressure modules on the market now as well. Speak to Mike at Diesel Tuner. www.dieseltuner.co.uk

My Caterman box has just arrived and i'm going to fit it now.
I think 185/190Bhp is more than enough for the siggy.

I went for a Powerflow mate. You'd be looking at around the £300 mark. don't forget about sports CAT's as well.

I've got some parts to fit in the next week or two, so I think I'm going to be falling in love with her again and may keep the car.

lol - good 4 you matey! it is a beast!!

so can u just buy a sport CAT and not the whole exhaust for more power then?

and are you better off with an induction kit or a panel filter do u think?

I have a K&N Panel filter and a Stainless Powerflow CAT back exhaust and together with my Diesel tuner box I got 202bhp & 304lbft.

I believe sports cat's can be bought off the shelf. It's better to check with someone like powerflow first though. I'm sure that they're not cheap.

thanx matey - will def invest in a panel filter sharpish (any idea of gains from that alone any1?)

i would like to get the exhaust done too at some point but am contemplating some new rimms!!

does your exhaust made any difference to the note of the car, as in more throaty at all?
