    Default VXR Mileage Facts ....

Right after a lot of debate on VXR mileage claims I decided to do a measured tank, we were going to Dundee for a run so thought it would be good to get a mixed drive. So on my tankfull of petrol, shell Vmax I did 293 miles and this took 11.04 gallons of petrol. Therefore with my calculations I got an average of 26.5 miles to a gallon. the mileage was broken down into 1 run to dundee and back, this was 120 miles with cruise control on @ 70mph except for a few roadworks, the other 173 miles is round the houses, 1/2 Aberdeen, 1/2 Dundee, a few spirited runs but mostly at speed limits, and probably 1/2 hour in traffic sitting still . For so many smiles to the miles I think it is stonking value.

    Thats excellent economy Tommy

I done something similar last week with the 2.0T and my average was 27.5MPG which was mostly short journeys around the town and 1 run to Oban, not much difference really compared to the BHP of the 2 engines

I thinks that very interesting i thought the vxr was not that good on fuel but that seems a fair test with good results for a 2.8 turbo

That's spot on Bainie, so all these 45 mpg claimant's can now be seen for what they are, deluded or liar's.
