Default Engine mods on 1.9 CDTI

Hi guys, looking for some advice/help.

    I've got a 55 plate 1.9cdti 120bhp Vec C

Thinking about getting the 150bhp injectors, cold air intake, front mounted intercooler, egr delete and then chipped and remapped.

Would this work and is there anything else I could do to increase power output?

As you have a 120 then you have a F32 gearbox so to be honest its not worth trying for high gains as it will rip the gearbox apart. The M32 gearbox is only good for 320Nm hence the name. The M32's are fitted to Astra 150's but they have quite a high failure rate on an unmodified car. My modified Vectra C 150 was running 488Nm with a F40 gearbox (which can go well above its 400Nm rating without issues) and a Sachs uprated clutch, way out of reach for a M32 box.

    @merikiito

Cheers man! What would you recommend to get the most power out of it without replacing the gearbox?

I couldn't see any coolers on dph website?

I'm already running a full dph hose kit and just want to add a fmic and the associated bends to it but I couldn't see anything other than hoses on dph site?

I would not bother with the FMIC unless you are running a hybrid. the VXR has the same intercooler so you should be fine for what you want to do.

I would be looking at just a map to about 150-160bhp and limiting the torque to 320 Nm (standard is 284 Nm), that way you are not pushing the gearbox any more than it has to be.
Maybe a de-cated exhaust to a small back box but if you remove it you will now fail the MOT. There are ways around it but to be honest for the 120its not really worth it.

The rest of the money I would put towards a 150

Fair enough man! Thanks for that.
    Yeah, mot's aren't a hassle for me as I know someone ;-)
    Thanks though!

I don't think there's any difference between the injectors on a 120 and a 150. The duration values in the mapping are almost identical suggesting they are the same.

We've had over 180bhp from @shb1988 120 with only exhaust mods and mapping.

@littleteapot what sort of torque was involved considering the M32 gearbox? Can the torque be limited?

In the case of shb1988, he wanted maximum power and torque and was not concerned about the potential weakness of the gearbox. I think we had about 360Nm on his. It has been fine like this for nearly a year now.

For those who are concerned about potential gearbox weakness, I can limit it to 320Nm.
