CD30 and trip computer

Do I understand it correctly:

the CD30 includes the trip computer in the SRI Vec C?

If so, I assume when you change it for a decent head unit you lose the trip computer?

Had my head unit out to fit a bluetooth phone kit, the trip works without the sterio the screen shows everything exept the sterio stuff.
