    Vehicle : Jaguar XF 3.0D V6

    Trim : Black

    Engine : 3.0D V6

Fill tank of petrol, and reset tripometer
Measure distance travelled on tank of petrol, ie what the tripometer reads, measure petrol consumption, ie what you put in tank, and divide one by the other.

Or is that too simple ?

The old fashioned way just, fill the tank and take a note of how many gallons is in it, then once the car is empty divide the total miles by the amount of gallons used. It'll probably be something like 400 divided by 10.5. I just changed from a 1.8 petrol and had to use this prehistoric method all the time.
    did they make a 1.6 veccy C? Is it a 1.8?

I'd say it'd be more accurate to fill up again to get the amount of petrol used, as you never know how much petrol is actually left in the tank when the warning light comes on.

Vectra 1.6 was (and still is) available in southern Ireland (badged as an Opel of course) with 100 horses! I know you used to be able to buy an Opel in Northern Ireland years ago...

Jesus, I thought the 1.8 is underpowered, to be sure.
