I have the drivers I would just need the controller and cables. I haven't gone any further down this road until I have decided on the "best" option, if you would like a copy of the drivers, mate, then you have my email, just let me know
not sure yet, as I'm still largely undecided as to wether it will be of any real benefit to me. I'm also considering a multi raspberry pi setup - different video for each rear seat and front passenger seat, along with a clever solution for some audio. But mainly, my problem is that I'm running a video server setup at home and integrating that with a raspberry PI is problematic, so I'm actually considering a windows based solution instead, maybe with a mac mini
TBH I am still looking for good touch screens...
not necessarily, the scope of @yysnet 's work is better quality than what you'd expect from a DIY working touch screen. But tbh, none of the touch products I've ever owned with a resistive touch screen have been very good, except maybe for a philips remote. I imagine the software part of a capacitive screen would be a somewhat big job to get to work, but adding multi touch features, it could be a great piece of work, if integrated with the cars canbus system.
Well, I'll have a look at the screen when it arrives and take it from there. I'm not expecting too much for the price though, and my past experience with these resistive touch screens has been with low cost low quality devices similarly to yourself.... will just have to wait and see I guess
@Woody did you found appropriate touch panel?
No. I found one but couldn't get it to work with the Vectra CID and Raspberry Pi. Another user with a Zafira B did find one that worked with his screen though but it is obviously too big for a Vectra screen.
HTH
This may not be the solution that is wanted, but I have been looking at replacing the head unit with a standard double DIN unit and replacing the screen with a separate Garmin sat nav. They can be fitted with front and rear cameras etc. So there is a reverse camera option.
