Unsuspect noise when driving

HI, I've had a Vectra C for 4 months now, and recently i have had problems with a humming noise coming from the left side of the car. I took it into Vauxhall Dealer and they check the Wheel balance and spoiler to ensure all was clear. This hasn't resolved the problem. The humming gets loader at 70 mph. Any of you out there experienced the same problem?

is it always there, regardless of what speed you are doing, but gets worse at or above 70mph.

sounds like a wheel bearing to me - did the garage check/change it?

how old is the vectra?

EDIT: Just checked your profile, 2002......so it could well be the bearing.

by the way yes its always there, but just gets worse at 70 mph

As per Harry's reply, sounds like the wheel bearing to me.

I have a similar problem, took it to Vauxhall to have the bearings ckecked but all was ok. The service manager suggested a 4 wheel alignment which was done but no joy in sorting the noise.
It has been suggested that Vectra's and Signums have a common fault where the rear tyres eventually mis shape themselves on the inside rim and the dealers have suggested swapping the tyres round which i am intending on doing.

Had this dronning noise since ive had the Vec.Went to the Dealers yesterday and mechanic got in the back seat and went for a spin.BOOKED in on Sat for another 2 wheel bearings.Had the rear 2 done 8 months ago still got this prob

I've not got any suggestions but I'm glad it's not just me. Mine does a similar thing after taking a sharp corner a speed such as fast roundabout. I get a strange sort of wob wob wob wob wob noise from the front, seems to sort itself out when I apply the brakes. Took it to Vauxhall and once again they couldn't find anything wrong.
I've just learnt to turn the stereo up!!!

it sounds like the bearings on yours as well.....
