The number 3 wax isn't the best out there, drop that and replace it with a better one.

Stuff I really like are XXX Hardcore wax, or 50/50 wax. Then get either Blitz spray sealant or Instawax for bi-weekly top ups.

    All available from www.carwashnwax.com

p.s. I'm not connected to the conpany, just a very happy customer.

I use Turtle Wax Nano-Tech spray wax after washing. It's fairly cheap, easily available in Halfrauds, and leaves the car with a beautiful finish, the water beads for a good couple of weeks afterwards!

*ahem* not that i'd ever leave it that long between washes, obviously...

Megs stage 3 wax is ok but not very durable, I'd recommend either Collinite #476 which has fantastic durability but not the deepest wet look shine but still very good, Chemical Guys 50/50 is an excellent product with very good durability and leaves a nice wet look finish, there's also a new product called Victoria Wax "Concourse" which is getting excellent reviews amongst detailers

Just for info here are the costs: -

    50/50 Connoisseur Paste Wax LTD edition £24.95 + P&P

    XXX Hardcore Paste Wax £12.95 + P&P

    Victoria Wax Concourse £29.95 + P&P

    Victoria Yellow Collectors Wax £26.95 + P&P

    Collinite 476s £15.45 + P&P

    Megs #16 £12

    In addition to the 476s there is also Collinite 845 & 915 which are also excellent costing £15.45 & £22.50 respectively......although I do have a couple of tins/bottles of 476s (4off) £13ea, 845 £13ea (2off) and Megs #16 £10ea (4off) all are delivered prices, I will also have 915 aswell which will be about £17 delivered......just a thought

If anyone has a problem with this reply please just delete as necessary

PS the spray waxes I like are CG's Instawax and OCW (Optimum Car Wax) both are easy on easy off, a benefeit of the OCW is that it does NOT discolour rubber or plastic.....infact OCW can be used on black plastic & rubber!!

    Hi Tommy,

I've used Victoria Concours a couple of times now (I don't have any but someone I know does ) and it's very good, gives a very nice finish, the only thing we're not sure about is durability as it's a fairly new product to the market.

Have you seen the post on DW about the meet in Perth yea?.......if you're going to that I'll get Dave to bring his along and you can have a look see what you think
