    Quick update on the Veccy:-

Few bits done this weekend. Front bumper off for the 1st time (nowhere near as bad as i thought it would be).
Had a loose nearside fog light that was also suffering badly from moisture ingress. Took the fog light out, emptied a pool of water from it then cleaned, heated glass with hairdryer on low setting which dried out the remaining moisture and ran a bead of silicone around the whole fog light.

1 of the plastic rivets on the fog light mounting had popped out so sorted that. Siliconed the offside foggy too minimise chances of moisture ingress.

Replaced the original Fog light surrounds with some new Signum surrounds.

Replaced my washer bottle (no sensor) with another with the built in sensor, which i got off Ebay for £6. Now i dont get the washer fluid low warning come up on GID everytime i start the car.

Other than that i put a 12V socket in the boot which is run off a permanent live in the REC :-

Rear of centre console now has a switchable light. Got this on Ebay and was a boot light from a MG ZR Rover.

And a full wax to round things off :-

A busy weekend with some more mods to the Veccy, nothing spectacular and widely done by many other people on here but its what ive wanted to do to it:-

Headlining out, old basic loom removed, rear courtesy light then added, used full roof loom off Ebay installed together with auto dimming mirror loom.
Put back in the car and added illuminated sunvisors, the auto dimming mirror and an upgraded front interior light (map lights).

After testing everything before refitting the headlining i was peeved to find that once all was in place and screwed/clipped in i had no 12V to the front interior light or either sunvisor Rear light worked great.

Did a few checks (fuses bulbs etc) and concluded the loom must be faulty so back out came the whole headlining and looms.

Found where the problem was. At the large loom junction/overlap near the rear of the headlining the metal press fit crimps had come away.

So after doing some reading up on here about how best to repair a broken loom i stapled the tracks at the junction and then buzzed it all out with a meter.

Back into the car again and all works well so refitted it all and the auto dim mirror trim, then sat back , caught my breath and admired the finished article.

Then onto replacing the chrome headlights with a pair from an 08 plate SRi, again off of Ebay. Very happy with the results:-

That looks great. Love the smd conversion, its not a colour I would have thought of but it looks really good. And the sri lights make a massive difference to the look of the car. Top work mate and keep the photos coming with the progress

Thanks Mrk and Buzz for your favorable comments.

Not sure if i should colour code the V-grill.
With the original headlights it was a case of too much chrome. Now ive got the SRi headlights im liking the front a whole lot more.

May have to photoshop my pic to see what it looks like with black V-grill.

Couple of new additions over the weekend:-

Auto lights/auto wipers retrofitted, just needs programming once i get a car pass sorted from the dealers.

    P1080981.jpg

Front ashtray removed as i never use it. DC Voltmeter wired in to the 12V socket to keeps tabs on battery voltage. Green backlit screen matches my GID screen perfectly.
