Default CDTI 150 Tuning Box, Has Anybody Heard Of These Guys?

    Hi Everone Great Forum!

I have spent the last 2 days solid reading all the threads regarding Tuning Boxes for the Vectra CDTI 150.

Its a minefield! so much choice.... Analogue CR1 or Digital CRD2? and then theres the Caterman special, not to mention the new Spider box that everybody seems to rave about.

I have got a budget of £250 - £300 and would like to know which box offers a healthy increase in Hp and Torque, without sacrifising too much reliability.......... Cake and eat it etc

Also I have not come accross these guys on your forum as anybody heard of them or got any info?

    http://www.bhpplus.co.uk/

it seems to be well built, not a bad price, and you can turn it off without removing it.

Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated.
And then theres the airbox mods and filters........... arrrrrrrrrrhhh

Personally i would not spend £269 for a CR2 with a switch as that is all it is m8. For the 30 seconds or so it takes to remove mine for £65 i'll stick with it.
Plus i have around 190BHP whereas they claim 179bhp.

If you want a reliable warranted change to the power output then spend a bit more and go for a remap.

Go for the K&N panel filter, airbox mod and fit a decent exhaust system too. HTH

Does anyone know if a CRD2 tuning box for an astra cdti 150 will work on a vectra cdti 150?

Cheers wasn't too sure. Tried one on the car today and service light came on there was no throttle response and idle speed rose a bit...I've since found out that those are caused by the plugs being the wrong way round .

    Default Cr1 sounds about right

Did I read somewhere that as a member of Vectra-C.com you get a discount on the Cr1? if so who?

I think I will get a Cr1 as it seems very popular! the Caterman does appeal on price but I would rather have some adjustability as I dont always need 190 bhp.............

And on that note where would be the best (cheapest) place to go?

    Cheers

These tuning boxes although they deliver the goods are a bit of a lottery getting the plugs the right way round.

Had another good look at all the threads, and after a decent chat with Mike at Diesel Tuner, I have just ordered a CR1 at a great price! should get it in a couple of days, and will post the results, thanks for all your advice. I was going to buy a tunnit box at £500 before I came across this site.

    Cheers

Leave us some details on the price. Ive been offered to get it remapped at a place in Sheffield called Autorads which I think is a good idea as its probably insurance ignored then.

K&N would be a must I think, just for servicability more than anything.

Although I know nothing about tuning so would like to hear folks opinion on the remapping for the Signum 1.9CTDi.

Best thing to do m8 is have a chat with Mike, he will answer any questions you might have, (decent bloke) If you speak to him or send him an email telling him that you are part of this forum he will hopefully give you a good discount!

    The link is above m8..

he reckons about a 40 bhp increase using the cr1 (plug and play).

I will post my results when I get it.. should be Friday
