Got run into by a bus this tea time, no one was injured but the car needs a new wing and front bumper.
I came to a roundabout got myself in the right hand lane as I was turning right at it (3rd exit). Waited for the traffic to clear and then pulled onto the roundabout keeping in the inside land (2 lanes), past the first exit and then came up to the second exit still in the right hand lane. A single Decker bus without stopping then came straight onto the roundabout without looking ( I saw the driver looking straight ahead) I applied the breaks as he came up alongside me and came to a full stop wedged in between the bus and island curb. The bus then turned into the roundabout as he was going straight across and went straight down my passenger wing and also caught the bumper. He then carried on at some speed and then pulled into the next bus stop, I thought he was going to do one but a woman wanted to get off.
I pulled up in front of him and got out as lisa (my better half) told me to keep calm. I entered the bus and asked what he was playing at, and his reply was what do you mean?! Well I kept calm but lisa lost it so had then had to calm her down.
No apologies from the driver and he didn't even want to see the damage, that's what really made me mad but still kept my cool.
Well I've got his details and the number of a girl that was sat on the bus who said she didn't see the impact but thought that he shouldn't have pulled into the roundabout. We both didn't have our insurance at hand, but I have rung the bus depot and got the claims department number.
So what happens now, Esure who I am with are closed until Monday so will have to wait till then to report it. Do I also ring the bus company with my details or just leave it with the name and address that I gave the driver? Also should I ring the girl as I didn't really speak to her, just got her number, or should I leave it all to Esure? Any advice welcome as this is all a bit new to me (I've been lucky).
PS should I also put my standard grill in and put the standard vectra fog surrounds in? I never told esure about them.
