If its that bad you may be aswell to take it off and get a part number off it and find out how much it will be to replace it with new..... repairing black plastic is not easy as the chipsaway man has said, you struggle to get the same textured finish on it. Halfrauds used to do a plastic trim repair kit but i'm not sure if it was any good.

As I've said, probably best to just replace it, its only plastic, can't be too pricey.

Probably best to get a new black trim then (they're not expensive) and see if the ChipsAway guy will come back and do it, but price it as part of one job - if you see what I mean.

Better still (though maybe too late as you've just paid for Chipsaway) is to buy my GTS front bumper and Irmscher Spoiler off me when I get my new Lexmaul front bumper.

I always use the Pentagon Vauxhall Bodyshop in Heywood. If you want to use them ask for Graeme, he's the manager there. I don't think he'll be able to do it today though.

The Chipsaway guy has just gone without being able to sort out the rear bumper. It has marks on it like finger prints.so he painted over the marks, but when he put laquer on the marks re- appeared. So he says he's never seen this before and that i'll have to take it to a body shop and have the whole bumper painted.
I'm not having a good day!

So what exactly did the Chipsaway guy do, it sounds like he didn't do a great deal of the work?

I had my front bumper scrape done by chipsaway a couple of weeks ago- made a good job of it - untill the next day when someone rubbed against the identical bit and scratched it again!!! (Il live with it this time as its not bad)

When I washed the car a week later I found loads of overspray over the light lens, bonnet, front bumper, wing and front fogs - which I was a bit anoyed about as it took a while to get it off!!!

Well,he did a small bit on the bumper but when he put laquer on it looked a mess.So he said it was a waste of time going on!
I called at Clover garage in Rochdale and they quoted £270 to repair and spray the rear bumper. When i asked about painting the black plastic under the front bumper he quoted £50,but said he wouldn't advise it,as the paint would crack if curbed. He said i would be better off with a lip spoiler and showed me one on Ebay for £49.It's tempting.
    What do you guys think?
