Default springs fitted today - NIGHTMARE....

    ....please help.

i bought a set of G-max 40mm lowering springs off woodySRi on this site. he said when he 1st fitted them to his car they banged so he was told by g-max to remove the spring mod.

when mine got fitted today it was banging and boinging - so we took off the rubber spring mod.

its not doing it as much now - hardly at all when driving and round corners or over bumps in road, BUT its a very noticeable BOING coming from the front springs when driving very slowly like parking etc....also over speed bumps its very noticeable.

i am gutted now as not sure what to do....please help.

fit the spring mod.. but this time grease the groove in the lower spring pan..it often helps..

they may be becoming coil bound and banging because of it..if they continue to bang, i'd swap them for another manufacturers..they may be too soft and just keep bottoming out..

they squeak rather than bang...i'd go for either binding or seating..anti roll bar bushes would have presented themselves before the car was lowered..

Dont like the sound of this....after the nightmare spoons had with his first choice suspension setup, and I'm sure there's been more than a couple of members on here who've had hassle lowering, I'm getting decidedly nervous about having my Eibachs fitted....

    Someone reassure me, please!

thanx for the quick replies guys....what a 'mare.

as mentioned it seems to not bang or boing at all when driving (apart from speed humps) but when i'm pulling into a space or parking up it "boings" a few times.

just remember that before i fitted the springs i would get a slight noise come from the front springs but only when it was 1st thing in the morning going over speed humps....sounded a bit like a quiet hydrolic noise.....

    please help peeps!!

OK... I NEVER had any technical problems with my Eibach springs at all... They were purely cosmetic.. In my opinion, the ride height was too high at the front.

So I simply had 888 commission Eibach to provide a 'custom' setup for the front, which is now really really good, but maybe too low for some...

Go for it... Eibach are superb !!

can this be done while the spring is still fitted yeah? cant afford to have them taken out and fitted again

even though my cdti isn't mentioned in the description given above i take it they'll still fit ok as its says 2.2 direct and the 2.0dti fine.
